Artificial intelligence helps us work. It does not do our thinking. This page says plainly where AI sits in how we produce advice, documents, and this website, and how we tell you about its role in what we create.
Where AI sits in our work
We use AI tools, principally large language models, to structure and draft documents, to organize research, to check our writing, and to build and maintain this website. Used this way, AI is an instrument: it makes the work faster and the output cleaner. One of our partners leads an AI practice, and we use these tools the way we advise clients to use them, deliberately and with judgment.
What AI does not supply
The ideas are ours. The strategies we recommend, the positions we take, and the recognitions that shape an engagement come from the partners' experience, and they carry our names. AI can arrange an argument; it cannot have spent decades closing transactions, building and selling firms, or running technology at institutional scale. Nothing we publish or deliver states a view we do not hold ourselves.
How we declare it
Documents we publish or deliver to clients carry a note, a colophon, stating specifically what the author contributed and what role AI played. It is a contribution map, not a disclaimer. Its standard closing line reads: "This is a working document written with substantial AI assistance, not machine output reviewed and approved. The distinction matters, and stating it openly is more useful than letting the reader guess."
Why we hold ourselves to this
Part of our advisory work is helping leadership teams build the culture, governance, and judgment to use AI well. Publishing our own working standard is that discipline applied at home. If we asked clients to be transparent about AI and stayed silent about our own use, you would be right to discount the advice.
